eBay Canada is Introducing Seller Videos on Listings
eBay said it is working to give sellers a modern selling platform in line with today’s retail standards which help sellers engage buyers and grow their business on the platform. As part of this effort, eBay is introducing video capability to Canadian sellers to include in their listings.
Canadian sellers are now able to add videos to their image gallery on the View Item pages through the company’s APIs or their third-party providers, at no extra cost. Videos will be initially visible to all buyers on the eBay app and will soon expand to desktop and mobile web as well.
This new feature enables sellers to use videos to better display inventory, showcase their product, offer instruction guides, or improve the display of the item condition.
Videos are an integral part of the company’s ongoing efforts to help sellers deliver more engaging shopping experiences to buyers.
Ironically, it was eBay’s 2017 ban on active content that virtually eliminated the use of videos in listings. With this update, eBay is introducing a new way to add videos to listings.
