FedEx Express Opens New Facility in Stuttgart Region of Germany

FedEx Express has opened a new facility in Nufringen Germany, which is located southwest of Stuttgart, creating over 30 additional jobs in the region.

By relocating from Sindelfingen, the company is expanding its services for customers and offering its team members a more modern and state-of-the-art working environment.

Customers will benefit from significantly increased capacity with later pickup times of up to two hours enabling them to schedule a pickup up until 5 pm for next-day delivery within Europe.

About The New FedEx Facility in Nufringen

FedEx engaged in the planning of the new building from inception to completion, ensuring cutting-edge operational efficiency. The new facility includes a fully automated sorting system and the ability to load vehicles directly at the belts, making couriers’ lives much easier.

Electric vehicle charging stations are installed in one-third of the parking spaces and future plans include a photovoltaic system on the roof to reduce carbon footprint.

There will be a total of about 75 team members working in the Nufringen facility. Not all new positions have been filled yet as the company is still recruiting team members, mainly for the warehouse.

• Location: Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße 10, Nufringen, Germany
• Opening hours: 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
• Total area: 4,800 m²
• About 75 team members when fully staffed
• Maximum sorting capacity: 4,500 packages per hour
• The facility has 14 truck gates for linehaul vehicles and 60 parking spaces for pickup and delivery vans, 20 that are for electric vehicles
