The marketplace defined pesticides as “Any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest. Any substance or mixture of substances intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant.”
Bonanza further said that its Loss / Risk Prevention (LRP) team will enforce this new rule, along with help from other community members that report such items to the marketplace.
While this new policy on banning pesticides and insecticides is very commendable, it is a bit difficult to enforce the makeup of a product without scientific evidence.
The company did not provide any details on how it will evaluate listings that may violate this new policy and what options sellers may have against false claims from disgruntled buyers or competing sellers.
What do you think about this new policy from Bonanza prohibiting all pesticides and insecticides and how they may enforce this ban?
