eBay Canada Expands Sneaker Authenticity Guarantee Program to Include US Buyers
Reading Time: 2 minutes eBay Canada has expanded its Authenticity Guarantee for eligible brands over $100 to buyers in the US who can now buy authenticated sneakers, both new & pre-owned, from Canadian sellers.
As a result, Canadian sellers can now reach a much larger audience of US-based buyers. Previously, Canadian sellers were limited to offering products through the eBay Authenticity Guarantee program to domestic customers.
eBay handles the second leg of the item’s journey from the authentication center to its final destination in the United States or Canada.
United States buyers are responsible for any taxes or duties associated with the purchase from a Canadian seller.
eBay Canada Authenticity Guarantee Improves Trust
eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee is designed to improve the trust between seller and buyer as sneaker purchases go through the company’s multi-point inspection program verifying the box, sizing labels, soles, stitching, logos, heel tabs, laces, and more.
Once a pair is verified as authentic, the sneakers receive a unique NFC-enabled tag that provides detailed information about the item’s authenticity.
Currently, sneakers from these brands are eligible for the Authencity Guarantee program: Yeezy, Jordan, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Vans, Reebok, Converse, Puma, Balenciaga, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton, Crocs, Off-White, Fear of God, Dior, Y-3, YEEZY SEASON, A bathing ape, Versace, Visvim, Golden Goose, Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, RHUDE, Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Burberry, Valentino, Buscemi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Givenchy, and MCM.
The eBay Authenticity Guarantee program for sneakers was originally launched last year in the US and has since been expanded to Canada, the UK, Australia, and Germany, with more markets planned.
