More Amazon Delivery Driver Work Complaints

This isn’t the first time that a TikTok has gone viral featuring Amazon delivery drivers that don’t always paint the company in the best light. Just a few months ago one FedEx driver went viral explaining an interaction he had with an Amazon driver who didn’t have money to buy a drink on a hot day in LA.

However, this is the first time that a video has gone viral that has claimed an Amazon delivery driver had been sent home and punished for needing to use the bathroom.

In the video above TikTok user @iagtjuice3 explains the situation.

“I got my packages, I got my van, I’m about to start my route…But I stop at the gas station, you know, get a little snack for the road, get a little beverage. My stomach was hurting, I really had to use the bathroom—I used the gas station bathroom.”

Upon exiting the bathroom, the Amazon delivery driver said he found his supervisor standing outside, who then told him to go home, and asked him why he was “wasting time” at the gas station.

The driver allegedly answered that he needed to defecate. His supervisor asked why he hadn’t defecated at the warehouse, to which the driver replied, “I didn’t have to sh*t then.”

Whilst a lot of the comments on the TikTok video showed sympathy for the driver, there were a few comments that felt that the whole story wasn’t being told.

“how long was you in the bathroom had to be a really long time for your boss to be outside waiting for you”

“I don’t even have to watch the whole thing to know you might have did something or more to the story” said two separate TikTok commenters.

Whilst it does seem that the Amazon delivery driver must have been in the bathroom for a long time in order for the supervisor to notice a problem, get in a car, drive to the location and then wait outside to confront the driver.

However, there are also a number of reasons that people may need to use the bathroom for longer than average which a company should not be able to discriminate against.
