Images play an important role when you’re selling merchandise online. That’s why it’s important to get it right at all times. Any details that are out of place may force you to do a re-shoot, which can both waste your time and money.

See if all the buttons are visible and buttoned up. It may look simple but it’s often one of the things that are often overlooked in fashion. It’s advisable to have someone with you to help you double-check these details when you’re on a shoot.

Ties

Ensure that ties are neatly styled when doing a shoot. It’s also advisable to practice beforehand to avoid wasting your time during the shoot. There are several great YouTube videos on creating a perfect knot, so ensure that you plan ahead of time to ensure that your shoot goes as intended.

Collars

Always iron the collar before the rest of your article. The lines of a collar can possibly draw your customer’s attention longer than any other part of the article. So, ensure that it’s flat and straight to enhance the image’s quality. Always remember that a wrinkled collar will make it look unrefined so spend extra time to ensure it looks perfect before the shoot.

Wrinkles

Try to iron out as many wrinkles in your product before the shoot. However, there are certain items such as articles with unique stitching may prove to be difficult. In such cases, you may want to consider all options and be as creative as you can when photographing your clothes. One good advice is using a different fold or shooting it on a new angle to help hide the wrinkles and even enhance the photo’s quality.

Sleeves

Ensure that you fold your sleeves consistently in each of your photographs. Additionally, your sleeves should look symmetrical or your clients may question your product’s fit.

Stains

It’s advisable to keep each article of clothing in a protective bag and hang each of them on a clothes rack to prevent any mishaps. Stains can definitely ruin your photoshoot, so ensuring that everything is well-protected is a must.

Pins

Most of the time, designers and photographers will use safety pins or clothespin to style the article. So, try to use an angle that’ll avoid exposing them so it won’t be clearly visible in the photos. Although you can easily remove these through the photo editing process, it’s a better idea to avoid it altogether.

The list may appear to be quite simple, but things may easily slip your mind once you’re on the shoot. So, it’s always best to keep a list in front of you during a photo shoot. This way, you’re less likely to forget these things as you go through each frame.
