Amazon Driver Arrested For Assault After Punching 67 Year Old
Another bad news day for Amazon delivery drivers as a female employee was arrested in Castro Valley California this week after assaulting a 67-year-old resident who was allegedly asking where her package was. This comes just a few days after another Amazon delivery driver was filmed having what appeared to be a breakdown whilst on their delivery route.
Unfortunately for Amazon this incident was also caught on camera showing the 21 year old throwing multiple punches to the head of the 67 year old resident who had turned to walk away before being assaulted.
It appears that the Amazon customer received an alert on her phone letting her know her package had been delivered at the apartment complex she lives in. Upon going downstairs she asked the driver for her package and was told she would get it for her soon.
After an alleged 15 minutes of waiting the resident asked once again for an update, a verbal altercation ensued followed by the video above where the resident can be seen walking away before the assault then took place.
The driver is stating that she acted in self defense, however after watching the video, her actions don’t appear to be those of someone acting in self defense or with reasonable force for the situation.
The delivery driver was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury and elder abuse, both of which are felonies, and had her bail set at $100,000.
