Amazon Officially Announces Prime Day for 2020

SHARE

There had been plenty of rumours floating around the eCommerce space over the last few weeks about a suspected date and announcement for Amazon Prime Day 2020. Coming after the expected date of July got cancelled due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic.

However the rumours have been confirmed, Amazon have officially announced that 2020 will get an Amazon Prime Day.

Amazon Prime Day – 13th / 14th October 2020

Up to now there is nothing to suggest that this Prime Day will be any different than previous years other than obviously the date.

Prime Day’s of previous years have historically been the best days for Amazon price cuts even more so than the Black Friday deals periods.

Which leads on to the next obvious question…what will happen this year for Black Friday?

Over recent years the Black Friday deals period has extended for longer and longer periods, starting at one day up until last year the event running for over two weeks.

However usually Prime Day and Black Friday are often 4-5 months apart, not just 4-5 weeks, which will be the case for this year.

Many big retailers also seem to be stepping away from Black Friday this year due to the craziness of 2020.

What Does This Mean For Sellers?

Well firstly it means that you have got two big Amazon sales events very close to each other and then not forgetting Christmas itself.

It means for the next 3 months Amazon will be pushing traffic hard to the site so it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of this sales period.

Looking to get your items a Prime logo is the first step if they don’t already (Whether that be through Fulfilled by Amazon or Seller Fulfilled Prime)

The obvious points still stand of making sure you have enough of your products available to see you through the sales period and to make sure your internal processes are robust enough to meet the demand.

Amazon already have their Prime Day 2020 page live which you can check out for the latest updates surrounding the event.

As always to make the most of deals on October 13th and 14th customers will have to be subscribed to the Amazon Prime subscription service.
