Video: Porch Pirate Struck By Karma and Appears To Break Ankle
As we get closer and closer to the holiday season the prevalence of porch pirates increases and we see more and more items left on doorsteps by delivery drivers.
In case you have been living in a non-eCommerce bubble then a porch pirate is someone who steals packages that have been left on doorsteps. Sadly last year we saw video footage of a child being recruited as a porch pirate under the guidance of their supposed mother.
Well, today we can share with you a nice bit of karma as a porch pirate has been caught on a doorbell camera appearing to break her ankle whilst trying to get away with a couple of packages that did not belong to her.
The video was uploaded to TikTok on the account @acfishingoffical and has amassed over 1.2 million views.
Porch Pirate Season Is Upon Us
Whilst there is always something satisfying about seeing someone fall victim to instant karma, it doesn’t help address the wider problem of porch piracy. The issue has been around for a number of years and has led to the famous Youtuber and ex-NASA scientist Mark Rober designing annual anti-porch pirate devices which go viral every year.
We also covered earlier this year Kentucky lawmakers were also aiming to pass a law that would help crack down on porch piracy across the state. With the current state of the economy in a worse state than a year ago, it could lead to desperate times for more who might resort to porch piracy over the holidays.
